Corporate Rock Sucks! At least, that’s the joke people whipser to themselves as they turn on their radio… so we thought we’d do something about it! We decided a while back, we didn’t want to be any part of that joke! So, we created a variety of programs for our followers so they don’t have to listen to that song they once loved, over and over (to the point it is played TO DEATH)! Alternative music has such a diverse following, so seriously…. why limit yourself, right? No disrespect to our much larger Corporate brothers, but we honestly play the best Alternative, Punk, Ska and Reggae tunes, no matter when the tune came out. We feature programming like ”New Music Monday” on Facebook with Christina. “Flashback Fridays” with Christy Carter and “Resurrection Sunday” with Jimmy Alvarez. We also feature “SAVE BEAVIS,” our Ska and Reggae page on Facebook which is run by SoCal Ska Queen, Jamie Nicole Rocha! The rest of the week, what can we tell you….. we promise to give you non-stop, brain damaging and mind melting tunes. The way alternative tunes were meant to be heard! We put that all together for our LIVE broadcast every Saturday, from Noon to 2:00 (Pacific time). You can also catch the TNN staff at concerts throughout California. You can read our reviews and check out the pics we take. We have a team of accomplished and Award Winning photogs and writers. Needless to say, you won’t find TNN is Suckapedia! We also feature what we consider the BEST, and most diverse Concert Calendar in Southern California!

NOW, for the business end of ABOUT US!
TNN RADIO is an independently owned and produced Radio Program airing on the world-wide web. TNN does business under its parent BNG Marketing [“BNG”].
BNG is licensed and operates in Orange, California. TNN broadcasts its original live programming via MEDIA 89.5FM – KTSTFM.com via its internet link, directed by www.tnnradio.org.
Initially, TNN RADIO was an idea that originated from its parent (BNG). BNG began business in publishing back in 2004. In the early part of 2006, BNG began its venture into broadcast media. For its live broadcast, TNN RADIO goes by the ficticious business name of “TNN Radio,” and for its live broadcast, it identifies itself as “TNN’s Alternative Lunch.”
Programming targeted the 15-50 year old (male / female) demographic that follows the music / genre business model. TNN programs a contemporary modern rock music format. It also plays music from the genesis of the genre. The program also features music from the grunge, reggae, mod-ska and punk-ska genres over multiple time eras as far back as the 70′s. TNN’s flagship program (TNN’s Alternative Lunch) airs each Saturday from Noon (Pacific Time Zone) to 2:00 p.m.
BNG Marketing and TNN Radio
BNG Marketing officially took on the identity of TNN Radio in the latter part of 2010 moving from an assumed name. After the first quarter of operation, BNG management explored expanding the role of its on-air personalities. Later that year, it brought on additional on-air staff to engage in a talk show and music format to better serve the public interest. Areas of concentration for the “talk segment” were homelessness, mental health, drug abuse prevention and animal welfare issues.
The concept was successful in its first six months. However, as a result of a substantial email campaign from its listeners, BNG management returned the format back to its orginal all music design.
The TNN NAME
TNN is an acronym used to describe the programs music design. The TNN acronym was established to include the thought of Alternative music, Then n’ Now. Additional slogans came into play, such as “Broadcasting at a frequency that only our fellow freaks can hear” and “Saving the world from really crappy music, one song at a time” and “At TNN, happiness if life in the key of ska!”
Although the contemporary music played on its broadcastis is what got the most details on the Alternative Lunch program, reasearch showed BNG management that its listeners were drawn to music from the origins of the programming genres. Since new wave and punk rock music from the late 70’s and early 80’s were getting attention, BNG commissioned a research study of its listeners to see what was the big draw for them. The report suggested along with the new wave and punk genres, that grunge, mod-ska and punk-ska scenes were also getting attention. As a result, BNG developed its social media platform and created “TNN Radio” and “Save Beavis” on Facebook. TNN Radio on Facebook dedicates itself to the alternative/modern rock/new wave and punk rock genres while Save Beavis is more aligned with the reggae, mod-ska / punk-ska scene.
TNN and the Social Network
TNN’s venture was an immediate success, so in 2009’ BNG expanded the role of the subsidiary within its organization and vetured futher into social media. TNN partnered with social media consultant Scarlett’s Web to create the social media strategy, as well as the foundation and artwork for its social network. In late 2009, it was evident TNN was becoming increasingly popular on the social media scene. As a result, on the Operations side, in Q1-2010 marketing of the program was turned over full-time to Scarlett’s Web for branding. TNN on Twitter was established in Q2-2010, in Q1-2011 social media management reverted back to BNG. TNN is now found at Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, MySpace and Pintrest. TNN remains partnered with Scarlett’s Web for special social media projects.

The success of the music programming is based in large part on the contributions made by its listeners. BNG management was aware of the fascination with the 80′s, punk and ska era’s and genres… that and the somewhat fanatical influences of fans of certain bands. BNG considered these deep rooted devoted fans and wanted to avoid coming off as too serious and full of themselves. So they brought on current host, Jimmy Alvarez.
Jimmy is a veteran of the publishing and music media. Jimmy is a published author and business professional. He is an FCC licensed broadcaster with over twenty years experience in radio. He was previously engaged at such places as modern rock power station KROQ [106.7 fm] in Los Angeles, California as well as a short stay at MARS FM – KDLD [103.1 fm] Santa Monica, California. Also contributing to TNN is broadcast media veteran Christy Carter, she too is a KROQ alum and can also be heard at FM/949 San Diego where she does evenings (Mon-Fri). Over the years TNN has developed a network of contributors that cover and report events from coast-to-coast and around the world. Ska Queen Jamie Nicole Rocha can be found roaming the halls of TNN when she isn’t dancin’ the night away at a ska show.
